VR Climbing Guidebook for  Yerriyong

This virtual climbing guidebook provides information for: The Lair, Capricornia, Panther and Hylands Lookout.

The Lair

The Lair is the first area that you find when you are travelling on Braidwood Road. Both the road access and the walking track are super easy. This is a great place to learn how to climb and also for the kids with routes ranging from 15-20 meters long. All are bolted. For the more experienced climber there are also some sections here on offer. The climbing here is mostly vertical/slabs with some overhanging exceptions. The peak season is also Mar-Nov

Things that caught my attention:

Members area wall

The wall in Titanic area

Capricornia

Nice little spot that may see further development in the future. At the moment it has only 5 sport routes and a couple more projects. Road access and walking track are pretty easy. Walls are mostly vertical with some slabby sections, all ranging from 15 to 20 metres. I would suggest a 50 metre rope for this place. The ideal season for this crag would be Mar-Nov

Things that caught my attention:

The orange color of some walls

The route Panache

Panther

Panther is a really special place. You park the car, then walk for about 5 minutes until you get to an open cave and walk beneath a little waterfall (well, during rainy season). After couple of  metres walking along this cave you will get to a garden which leads into a passage that looks like a secret tunnel that will take you to another world (obviously high on drugs). It is at this point that you feel as if you are in the movie “the secret garden”, where you get into a wardrobe and come out in a beautiful garden. Mostly sport vertical routes, with some routes requiring natural protection. Routes  grades ranging from 17 to 26 and reaching up to 35 metres high. I would suggest a 70 metre rope for this area. Similarly as all the areas in Braidwood road, the ideal season is between Mar-Nov

Things that caught my attention:

The route Godzilla

The walking  access

Hylands Lookout

Hylands Lookout features vertical routes from 15 to 25 metres. All routes are bolted (with some exceptions where natural protection is required). The car access is fantastic and the walking track  is quite easy. It requires a bit more walking if going to Utopia, but nothing long. Overall most of the routes fall within the weekend warrior range, but there is a bit for everyone. The ideal season for this crag is Mar-Nov

Things that caught my attention:

The orange streak in the walls of the  northwestern side of Hylands
The cave that is located after “The Establishment”
