Bomaderry Creek

Bomaderry creek encompasses Julian Rocks, Sewer Wall, Ammo Dump, Chok-A-Block, Evil Dick, Mortein Wall, Lot33&34, The Rosies, Bartondale, The Bakery, South Central and Cheesedale. Most of the routes in this area are overhanging and range from 16 to 34. You will be able to climb here with a 50 metre rope most of the time. Cheesdale is an exception with some longer routes. Peak season for Bomaderry creek is Mar-Nov. Some parts in this region allow for climbing in all weather circumstances. Lot 33, Rosies, South Central and the left side of Cheesedale are protected from the rain.

Enjoy the family friendly experience but remember to bring the mosquito repellant.

Things that caught my attention:

Easy accessibility

The walk along the creek

Powerful boulders at Lot 33

Massive roof at Cheesedale

The Grotto

The Grotto has a great variety  of sport climbs for everyone, with  grades ranging from 13 to 34 and with some of the routes going  up to 30 metres, so a 60 metre rope would be a good choice for the area. The access for all the sectors is family friendly and spread along the Grotto are a couple of routes for the little ones to enjoy. The ideal season for this crag would be Mar-Nov.

Things that caught my attention:

Roots of some trees basically encapsulating big boulders

Nice walk from the upper grotto to P.C

The colosseum

Conehead and the Barbiturates wall

Hospital Rocks

This was one of the first places in Nowra where the climbing movement started. This place is ideal for any member of the family given the easy access and the routes grades ranging from 11 to 25 and reaching up to 16 metres high. I have only pinpointed selected routes in this area
